Winterization Support to Help Children Survive the Cold Weather in Sar-e-Pul

8,431 children (4,991 girls and 3,440 boys) in Sar-e-Pul attending Community Based Education (CBE) classes received warm clothes and shoes in January 2024. With financial support from Education Cannot Wait (ECW), Save the Children, in partnership with local partner, Help the Afghan Child (HTAC), distributed winterization kits to children of the CBE classes, including a jacket, a pair of shoes, five pairs of socks, a winter cream, and a hat.

Nasreen* (11), a CBE student, said, "Today Save the Children distributed winterization kits, which include a jacket, a pair of shoes, socks, cream, and a hat for us to stay warm in the winter. This kit will keep us warm on the way from our home to the class. Thank you for supporting us to stay warm during the winter."

Wasim* (12), another CBE student, shared, "I want to be a doctor because in our village, there is a lack of good doctors, and community members go outside for treatment. My father is a farmer. Thank you for providing us with these items. These will keep us warm, and we will not be sick."
