Save the Children’s static health centres to provide vital services in Balkh province
Save the Children is setting up two Health Static Centres (HSC) in the Zari and Charbolak districts of Balkh province, thanks to funding from the German Federal Foreign Office.
These new centres will offer crucial health services to a large portion of the population. In Charbolak district, more than 68,000 children and nearly 100,000 adults will benefit from the health clinic, while in Zari district, at least 27,000 children and 51,000 adults will have access to their HSC.
The HSCs are expected to play a vital role in enhancing positive health outcomes through the provision of medical services, health education, and preventive care. This initiative addresses immediate health needs and aims to promote long-term well-being and resilience within these communities. Situated strategically, these centers will be easily reachable for residents,
Ahmad khan*(52) told us: "This clinic service is very beneficial for our village, which is a rural area lacking hospitals or clinics. We are delighted to have a clinic established here as previously, we had to transport patients by foot or on donkeys to city or other village clinics. Sometimes, the condition of patients worsened on the way to the hospital. I have a request if the organization provide a night shift service specifically for pregnant women and mothers in labor."
