Cash Assistance Helps Kabul Flood-Affected Families Begin Recovery
Save the Children distributed Multi-Purpose Cash Assistance (MPCA) to families affected by the recent floods in Kabul. A rapid joint needs assessment, conducted by relevant cluster partners, identified 244 affected families. Each family received $156 USD in MPCA, equivalent to 11,000 AFN. This distribution was supported by the Humanitarian Fund (HF).
Shahla* (58), a resident affected by the floods, shared: “Because of the rain, water entered our home, and our belongings were damaged and dirty. We didn’t have enough money to buy anything. Thank you, Save the Children, for your assistance. With this money, I can buy food and household items for my family.”
This support aims to address immediate needs and help families begin their recovery process.
